Fiberglass and T700: Know the Difference

Start with what is in the paddle. Keep the rest of the construction in view.

The face is one part of the paddle.

The outer face is the surface layer identified in each model's material specification. Beneath it, all three current Pikimelo paddles use a polypropylene honeycomb core. The face material and the core are different parts of the construction.

RALLY and TOUCH use fiberglass faces.

RALLY 15 pairs its fiberglass face with a 15 mm PP honeycomb core. TOUCH 16 pairs the same outer-face material with a 16 mm PP honeycomb core. Their core thickness, series positioning and color designs distinguish the two models.

LEAP uses a T700 carbon-fiber outer face.

LEAP 16 T700 combines a T700 carbon-fiber outer face with a 16 mm PP honeycomb core. T700 identifies the carbon-fiber material for that outer face. It does not describe every layer of the paddle or indicate that the core is carbon fiber.

A label is a starting point.

Do not read a material name or an extra millimeter of core thickness as a complete rating of power, control or spin. A finished paddle is a whole construction. Compare the confirmed specifications, decide what you want to explore, and ask about any detail that matters to your choice.

Choose the model, not a slogan.

RALLY is the beginner and recreational starting point. TOUCH is for developing players with a regular playing routine. LEAP is the carbon-face model for intermediate and advanced players exploring the range. You can compare all three in one place before deciding.
